WordPress plugin update not showing on wp.org

I have been maintaining this plugin since quite some time… https://wordpress.org/plugins/pootle-page-builder/ But on releasing v5.1.0 update is not showing even after about 20 hours (at the time of writing this)… I don’t know what I’m doing wrong… This is my trunk readme.txt https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/pootle-page-builder/trunk/README.txt (I have correct Stable tag specified) This is my tagged version 5.1.0 […]

Questions about WordPress.org theme review

I have created one theme. The theme was denied today for the following reasons: Theme Review: Themes should be reviewed using define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true); in wp-config.php Themes should be reviewed using the test data from the Theme Checklists (TC) wp-config.php is the WordPress setting file. How do I alter my custom theme? the theme registers some […]

wordpress.org codebase

Is the codebase that runs wordpress.org publicly available? Specifically, I’m interested in the part that parses the plugins SVN repository to determine the current and past versions of plugins. I know that I have to look at the tags for each plugin but there are complexities around which tag is marked as the Stable tag […]

problem with readme.txt description and youtube video

I am the author of the Bitcoin and Altcoin Wallets plugin and I’m facing an issue with my readme.txt file. I would like to show a video and a text description, like other plugins do. I have entered a description in the description section and a youtube video, as you can see in the link […]

Why was my plugin rejected from the WordPress.org repository?

I have made a WordPress plugin, and it works. But when I send it to the WordPress.org plugin team, they responded: Calling wp-load.php directly Including wp-config.php, wp-blog-header.php, wp-load.php, or pretty much any other WordPress core file that you have to call directly via an include is not a good idea and we cannot approve a […]

When did wordpress switched requirements to php7?

I cannot find this information anywhere. Does any of you knows when exactly (from what version on) they switched system requirements to PHP 7? EDIT https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/ When did wordpress start recommending php7? From what of the wordpress versions? Or what date (more difficult, and I don’t strictly need).

WordPress.com vs WordPress.org

This question might seem a little silly but I was wondering what is the differences between WP.com and WP.org? I know the main differences like you can’t edit a them file without paying for it, you might get some ads and you get a youname.wordpress.com domain but what are the little features that make the […]

How is the WordPress.org plugin download history calculated?

I’m interested to know how the download history of plugins is calculated on WordPress.org. I’m noticing that one of my plugins is displaying a small percentage of users using a version which I haven’t released yet via WordPress.org. Is it because I have installed it manually on a couple of my sites for testing?

Where to find WordPress API changes for each version released

When I go here to download WordPress – https://wordpress.org/download/, is there a page either on the web or nested within the folders of the downloaded package that will explain any core code modifications (i.e. new or refactored WordPress API components) within the latest version? I’m trying to learn what major API changes have been introduced […]

Licensing of freemium plugin

I know this has been discussed elsewhere before but still it is not clear to me. I am currently investigating how to publish a freemium plugin: The free edition is a fully functional plugin, that I intend to host at wordpress.org and license under GPLv3. All of the code and assets is my own work […]
